The Council is responsible for the financial runnings of the Church; they can be considered the
"governing body" of the Church. They meet once a month to discuss finances and reports from
the Pastor and other Committees, as well as hear from members of the congregation.
The Stewardship/Evangelism Committee is responsible for services to the congregation and our
neighbors. They look to bring people into the Church so that they too can hear God's Word and
partake of the Holy Supper. They encourage every member of the congregation to be active and
participate in the Church not only on Sundays, but throughout the week as well.
The Mutual Ministry Committee provides an avenue for strengthening of the relationship between
the Pastor and the Congregation. Issues that the Congregation has with the Pastor, the Pastor
has with the Congregation, or a Member has with a Member can be discussed in a healthy
manner so as to come to a fair, healthy solution.
Trinity’s Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, or WELCA, is part of the
Southern Conference of WELCA units, belonging to the New England WELCA Synod,
headquartered in Worchester, MA.
Our purpose is stated as follows:
As a community of women
Created in the image of God,
Called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and
Empowered by the Holy Spirit,
We commit ourselves to
Grow in faith,
Affirm our gifts,
Support one another in our callings,
Engage in ministry and action, and
Promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
WELCA is open to all women and friends of Trinity, and we look forward to growing our
attendance. All of us enjoy belonging to WELCA where we can share our faith, support each
other, and carry the message of God’s love to near and far.
The Christian Education Committee, made up of the Sunday School teachers, is responsible for
coordinating Sunday School: its lessons and activities.
The Property Committee is responsible for the maintenance of the Church and its grounds.
The Worship and Music Committee assists the pastor in helping to plan Worship Services,
making sure the altar is properly appointed, and that there are sufficient supplies of candles,
bread, wine, etc.
Blessed with the talents of choir director and organist Jeff Stokely, the Choir sings an Anthem
every Sunday and for other services.
The Altar Guild takes care of altar arrangments: paraments, candles, flowers, Communion, and
the like.
